The Government of Honduras launched this educational program which aims at reducing illiteracy by 50% within 10 years in Honduras, thus contributing to reducing poverty levels. The program was undertaken by the National Commission for Non-Formal Education including the education of 25,000 illiterates and the involvement of at least 30% of the participants in socio-productive activities to improve their standard of living.
