The project aims at the provision of electrical power and has four main components: (a) the hydroelectric development of the Volta River at Kpong and associated transmission facilities; (b) reactive power compensation in VRA's transmission grid; (c) transmission lines and substations required to supply electric power to the Sefwi-Wiawso Bibiani area; and (d) a transmission line between Tema and Accra.
