The project consists of the following components:
- construction of 320 km of 220 kV transmission lines between Kidatu and Mufindi via Iringa;
- extension of the Kidatu sub-station and distribution network;
- construction of two 220 kV sub-stations at Iringa and Mufindi and installation of related equipment, including power line equipment;
- installation of about 550 km of distribution lines connecting sub-stations to their load centres; and
- supervision and engineering.
