The project will build two four-story facilities; one which will serve as a fully-equipped pediatric center with operating theaters, an emergency room, an intensive care unit and a neonatal unit. The center will also offer teaching and research facilities for medical students from Kenyan universities. The other building will be used as a burns management center with areas for hydrotherapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, as well as laboratories and operating theaters. In addition to containing 30 beds for adult in-patients, a 24-bed pediatric ward will also be built. Plastic surgeons and nurses specializing in burns management will also be hired.
