This pilot project was launched by the Global Mechanism of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification. It aimed to arrest and reverse desertification in the dry areas of West Asia. The scheme trained farmers in 10 West Asian countries on integrated management of natural resources. The project targeted mountainous areas, rangelands and salinity.
