The grant was extended to cofinance with the Canadian International Development AGency ( CIDA) a three-year institutional development assistance program for Eastern and Southern Africa. The OPEC Fund's contribution supported the Mauritius Institute of Health (MIH), Port Louis, Mauritius, and the EAstern and southern African Management Institute( ESAMI) in Arusha, Tanzania. It covered staff development, supply of equipment, books and training materials, research and technical support.
