The grant was extended to equip the laboratories of the Institute of Natural Resources in Africa (INRA) and was allocated to purchase equipment for the Metallurgy (Mineral Processing) Laboratory of INRA's unit in the Republic of Zambia. The Director-Designate for INRA resumed duties in April 1990 in the school of mines at the University of Zambia and studied the exact needs and equipment required for INRA.
