The project is part of Bolivia's Emergency Social Fund Program aimed at the rehabilitation of existing economic infrastructure and the improvement of social infrastructure mainly in the rural areas of the country. This will be achieved through the implementation of 20 sub-projects as follows:
- 15 sub-projects for the improvement of rural roads along 589 km of existing roads;
- one sub-project for the canalization of a river;
- one sub-project for the construction of a sanitary sewerage network;
- one sub-project for the construction of a new educational facility designed for 330 pupils;
- one sub-project for the construction of 85 housing units; and
- one sub-project for the reconstruction of the San Juan de Dios Emergency Hospital.
