To rehabilitate and upgrade a 53 km road linking the capital, Kigali, to the western and southern provinces of the country. Nearly two million people will benefit from the improved road safety, reduced transportation costs and substantial time savings. The project is also expected to foster the socio-economic development of the region, particularly the agriculture and tourism sectors, as well as promote regional integration by facilitating trade and movement of persons with neighboring countries.
