Project activities will be carried out in the southern regions of Benin in the departments of Atlantic, Couffo, Littoral, Mono, Ouémé, Plateau and Zou. Aims of the project are to help small-scale vegetable farmers adopt more efficient technologies in producing, processing and storing their produce. In addition, the project will construct and rehabilitate related infrastructure, such as produce collection centers, small processing plants, storage facilities and access roads, among others. Around 120,000 people are expected to benefit from the project, of which at least 40% will comprise women and 50% young adults. The project will also focus on the important role that women play in the household economy and their contribution to ensuring food security.
