In order to ensure the sustainability of the country’s healthcare system and meet the growing demand for healthcare professionals, Government has established a National Institute for Health and Social Studies. Currently housed in temporary accommodation close to the capital city’s Victoria Hospital, the institute is urgently in need of purpose-built premises.
This loan will help finance a new two-story building to accommodate the necessary classrooms, clinical and IT laboratories, documentation center, health education unit and lecture theater. By increasing the quality and quantity of trained health professionals, the project will help consolidate and broaden the country’s healthcare base and reduce the number of referrals for treatment abroad.
