The objectives of this project are to strengthen social welfare and mental health care delivery at the community, district and national levels, targeting the most vulnerable members of society. The project will therefore upgrade and equip the capital city's Mohlomi Hospital to a 115-bed national referral hospital. Lesotho’s National Health Training Hospital will also be upgraded to a Faculty of Health Sciences under the National University of Lesotho. Also planned is a training component involving capacity building within Lesotho's Social Welfare Department; targeting areas such as HIV/AIDS education, prevention, counseling and coping strategies, child protection and mental health care services.
