This project constructed and equipped two 70-bed hospitals to serve the 400,000-strong population of the Akkar and Hermel districts. In addition to general medical care, the hospitals provide outpatient and dental care, physiotherapy and mother-and-child care services. Sleeping quarters for medical staff were also constructed.
