This project will support government’s power sector development strategy, which seeks to increase the use of hydropower and reduce dependence on imported fuel. Activities to be carried out include:
- construction of a hydropower plant on the Golan Gol River in the Mastuj Valley-Chitral District of the North Western Frontier Province;
- construction of a diversion weir;
- installation of three hydropower generating units with a combined capacity of 106 MW; and
- installation of a 132 kV transmission line to connect the power station to the national grid.
