Under the project, the Garissa sewerage network will be rehabilitated and expanded through the construction of a 27.5 km-long main sewer line and 41 km of secondary sewer pipes, as well as a fully-equipped pumping station. Also planned is the installation of around 1,000 household connections and replacement of an existing water treatment plant. Once completed, the project will help improve the health and living standards of numerous communities.
