The project consisted in building-up and establishing a surgical unit to complement the existing services of the district hospital of Elavagnon, and to increase the overall capacity of the latter hospital. Through the implementation of planned activities, the project provided surgical services to the population of Elavagnon and its surroundings, and contributed to achieving greater equity in terms of access to health care services in the concerned geographic area.
