AOAD launched the second phase of a campaign to eradicate the old world screwworm in 13 Middle Eastern countries through intensified fly control activities using insecticides and chemicals, and introducing sterile insect technology (SIT). The first grant contributed to the financing of a regional training course and 25 portable dips for heavily infested zones. The grant balance of US$1,452.82 has been cancelled.
