The project aimed to improve food security and livelihood outcomes of the chisense fishery and other small scale fisheries in Zambia. It strengthened fisheries management and legislation and developed a new National Food and Nutrition Strategy to spur investments in value chains for nutritious foods, as well as focused on the chisense fishery that supplied large volumes of highly nutritious small fish to poor and food insecure consumers by developing evidence-based recommendations for policy, management and value chain interventions.
