This project aims to strengthen the ability of acutely vulnerable Palestinian households to cope with the protracted conflict. Its specific objectives are to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable women farmers in rural areas of the Gaza Strip through the provision of agricultural inputs and cash-based interventions. The project will directly benefit 100 households in the Gaza Strip. Project Outputs: 1. 100 female farmers were first enrolled in business training on the establishment and management of small businesses and submitted a simple business plan of their proposed income generating activity (IGA); 2. 100 female farmers received conditional cash assistance (a total sum of 1000 USD for each woman) to start their income-generating activities. The projects types varied between animal breeding (sheep, rabbits and poultry) and grocery. Project Impact: 75% of beneficiary households were able to increase their income by at least 30% by the end of the project.
