The Grant channelled through the IFRC, was approved to support the Sudanese Red Crescent Society to address some of the most urgent needs for the affected population, such as shelter, livelihood, health, as well as water, sanitation and hygiene. Summary of Operational Achievements: Under the IFRC broader operation, a total of 20,160 families, or 120,960 people have been reached with the distribution of emergency shelter and household items. Since the start of the operation, a total of 4,002 volunteers were deployed to support the 2020 and 2021 floods operations. The OPEC Fund’s support directly contributed to the procurement and distribution of Non-Food Items (NFIs) in the emergency phase of both the 2020 and 2021 Floods response. This includes the following: - 7,615 pieces of tarpaulins - 8,600 pieces of blankets - 5,200 pieces of sleeping mats - 597,000 water purification tablets - 2400 hygiene kits - 4,000 jerry cans - 3,664 kitchen sets
