The project will carry out activities in the Sofala and Manica Provinces in central Mozambique, where only an estimated 5.3% of the region’s 2.9 million inhabitants has access to electricity. Works will comprise:
- construction/rehabilitation of substations;
- installation of transmission lines; 593 km distribution network;
- connecting some 38,000 households to the grid; and
- installation of around 10,000 pre-payment energy meters.
