This loan will help finance re-commissioning of Egypt’s Kuriemat Power Plant, which is situated on the eastern bank of the River Nile, some 60 km south of Cairo. The project will construct a new combined cycle power plant with a 750 MW generating capacity. In addition, a water treatment system and wastewater treatment plant will be built, and all related mechanical and electrical works completed. OFID’s loan will specifically co-finance procurement of a heat recovery steam generator package.
