The project aims to establish an adequate transmission system connecting the El Cajon Hydroelectric Plant to the major load centers of Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula. The project includes provision of:
- high voltage electrical equipment;
- installation of two 230 KV single-circuit transmission lines from El Cajon to a receiver sub-station in San Pedro Sula and one 230 KV double-circuit transmission line from El Cajon to a receiver sub-station in Tegucigalpa; and,
- construction and installation of about 730 steel towers.
