Under the project, works will focus on four rural provinces with low educational coverage, namely Cabo Delgado, Nampula, Niassa and Zambesia, and will include:

  • upgrading of six secondary schools construction of two new ones;
  • provision of furniture and equipment;
  • construction of dormitories to house 200 female students;
  • rehabilitation of three Training and Vocational Education (TVE)facilities;
  • conversion of one TVE into a teacher training college;
  • capacity-building programs to strengthen the entire educational system; and
  • production of of gender-sensitive curricula.
The project will help increase the country's skilled workforce and in turn, reduce poverty levels considerably.
