Tajikistan’s important highway which links the capital Dushanbe to Darband on the Kyrgyz border has deteriorated substantially. The project will therefore conduct the following:
- rehabilitation of approximately 150 km of the two-lane highway;
- repair and strengthening of embankments;
- installation of bridge protection structures against avalanches and landslides;
- installation of drainage systems and road safety features;
- improvedment of around 77 km of rural feeder roads.
