The program loan will help import fertilizer in support of the country's Whole Township Paddy Production Development Program (WTPPDP), which involves twelve townships in Burma's main paddy growing areas.
The objective of the WTPPDP is to achieve a rapid and sustained increase in paddy yields through the intensive use of fertilizer and introduction of high yielding seed varieties, and the improvment of farming practices are expected to benefit from the program.
