The grant was toward an international research program on controlling a devastating disease that affects the potato production called late bligth, convened by the Peru-based International Potato Center (CIP). The program was conducted in five countries - Bolivia, Ecuador, Indonesia, Peru and Uganda - and sought to develop improved potato genotypes with resistance to the disease.
