To contribute to poverty reduction by enhancing populations' access to employment opportunities both within and outside of their communities; lowering transport costs; facilitating access to education, health, and other social services; and improving road safety and decreasing the incidence road accidents. Project works will include:
- upgrading of 66 km of selected national highways;
- reconstruction of the Narahenpita-Nugegoda bridge;
- installation of drainage works and road signs and markings; and
- consultancy services.
