The project will build a 200-bed, 27,000 m2 children’s hospital adjacent to the Al-Hussein Hospital in the capital Amman. The two buildings will be connected to enable the shared use of diagnostic and treatment equipment.
The new hospital will offer a wide range of sub-specialties and contain four main operating theaters, a smaller one for minor procedures and an imaging department. An intensive care and neo-natal unit is also planned, together with out-patient services. In addition, a new emergency facility capable of accommodating 92,000 visits per year will be built. Upon completion, the new hospital will act as a national referral center and be utilized as a teaching hospital.
