The total cost of the program was US$2.29 million. The program dealt with prevention and control of the Chagas disease in two of the most infected areas in Bolivia. The program was intended to reduce mortality and moribidity rates as well as to improve the living conditions of the populations in these areas. The program was implemented by the Chuquisaca Development Corporation (CORDECH). The program benefited 90,700 people in Nor Cinti and Sur Cinti provinces in Bolivia. These provinces are characterized by a high rate of infection and an extremely high poverty level.
