The project will expand radiotherapy centers at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in the capital Accra, and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi. This will include construction of an additional building at each hospital to house a full range of modern diagnostic and cancer treatment equipment, including brachytherapy and linear accelerator machines. It will also build chemotherapy rooms so that patients may receive combined therapies and provide training for selected Ghanian radiotherapists and oncologists. It is estimated that on completion of the project around 4,500 patients will be treated annually.
