Despite an abundance of natural water resources in the form of lakes, rivers and rainfall, gaps still exist in Rwanda’s efforts to harness and utilize them effectively. The project will expand the water supply system in Rwanda’s second-largest city, Butare. Activities will include:
- construction of two concrete dams on the Kidongo and Nyamashraza Rivers;
- carrying out of improvements to the Kadahokwa water treatment station; and
- expansion of the water distribution network.
