Bogue Road, an integral transport link located in Montego Bay, is operating well above capacity at an average daily traffic load of about 35,000 vehicles, causing congestion and travel delays. The project will carry out the following:

  • widening of the existing two-lane, six km-long road to a four-lane divided highway;
  • improvement of seven intersections along the stretch;
  • installation of drainage works installed to prevent flooding;
  • rehabilitation of a bridge spanning Montego Bay; and,
  • construction of 65 m bridge adjacent to the existing one.
Upon completion, the project will help facilitate the integration of domestic markets and help boost economic activity for the tourism, manufacturing and agricultural sectors.
