This project will upgrade a 46 km road that is part of the Trans-African Highway and provides key links to neighboring countries. The newly-repaired all-weather stretch will help reduce travel costs and travel time, and enable the project area’s 244,000 inhabitants to gain access to social services. Since most of the beneficiaries are heavily reliant on agriculture for subsistence and income-generation, the project is also expected to help raise household incomes and living standards.
