St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group was established in 1882 and is the only charitable provider of eye care to the Palestinian population of East Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. The grant has been extended to cover the deficit in the running costs of its Clinic in Anabta, which includes staff costs, utility costs, rent, medical equipmeent and other administrative costs. This clinic offers essential eye care for about 17,900 patients per year.
