Deir El-Balah Rehabilitation Society (D.B.R.S) was established in 1997 as a non-governmental and non-profit organization. It aims to develop and empower disabled people and their families in the middle governorate of the Gaza Strip, through capacity-building programs, special education, hearing and speech therapy, rehabilitation and humanitarian protection. The grant has been extended to support the Special Rehabilitation Project for Disabled People, which covers purchase and distribution of technical and medical aid to 850 people, includes wheelchairs, air mattresses and supplies, physiotherapy and occupational sessions for 150 physically disabled people, psycho-social support for 150 disabled and 300 family members, hearing aid fittings for 200 people and awareness workshops for 100 caregivers.
