AMAI is a non-profit, non-political NGO established in 1973, with the aim of mitigating the general hard life of the Palestinian community with particular attention to women, children, orphans and those of special needs. The following two projects have been approved by OFID (1) "Creating and Administering Palestinian Ambulance Centre Project" (Establishing the main headquarters of the centre, including four fixed first-aid points distributed over the provinces of Gaza, fully equipped with all relevant medical supplies as well as a wireless communication network) and (2) "Water Well Drilling and Desalination Plant Project" (Due to the destruction of many desalination plants and wells for drinking water, the urgent need for the provision of safe drinking water is enormous. In addition to the drilling well, AMAI purchased 115 water tanks with the capacity of 1,500 liter per tank).
