The proposed project is part of JEA's least-cost development program for the period 1988-95, and would involve: (a) the expansion of the existing sea-water-cooled steam power plant at Aqaba by the addition of 2x130 MW dual (coal/oil) fired units; (b) upgrading the sub-station at Aqaba and Amman-South to 400 kV; (c) the consulting services associated with (a) and (b); and (d) consulting services to assist the Awaba Port Corporation (TPC) in designing and supervising the construction of the multipurpose jetty at Aqaba.
