Aims of this scheme are to boost food production and incomes by promoting sustainable agriculture and environmental management, as well as developing rural infrastructure, especially in the health, water and road transport sectors. Seeds will be distributed, a coffee nursery built, and loans provided to small private businesses. Some 3,000 ha of land will be re-forested, bridges and roads constructed and wells drilled, benefiting some 1.6 million people.
