The project will carry out works in 152 communities in 18 provinces in southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, home to three-quarters of the rural poor. A community-driven approach will be used and focus on agriculture and enterprise development and the provision of rural infrastructure, the latter being directly co-financed with OFID’s loan. Activities will include:

  • rehabilitation and construction of transport infrastructure, market facilities and small-scale irrigation schemes;
  • provision of warehouses for storing crops and solar driers;
  • construction of small-scale water supply systems and rainwater collectors built.
It is anticipated that approximately 44,000 households will benefit from the project.
