Kuwait hosted the joint annual meetings of Arab financial institutions and the 16th regular session of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers in April organized by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development and the Arab Monetary Fund.

President Abdulhamid Alkhalifa represented the OPEC Fund and engaged with member and partner countries to strengthen cooperation and deepen impact. Meetings with member countries offered the opportunity to provide an update on the OPEC Fund’s latest delivery and to present the new Member Country Engagement Strategy.

Kuwait’s Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah emphasized the importance of economic cooperation and integration among Arab countries. He highlighted the need to align policies aimed at strengthening economic structures, improving the business environment and increasing productivity and competitiveness.

Delegations from Arab countries, including ministers, senior officials and economists, participated in the meetings. These included officials from the Arab Monetary Fund, the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the Arab Investment and Export Credit Guarantee Corporation and the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa. Many of these organizations are partners of the OPEC Fund under the umbrella of the Arab Coordination Group.
