OFID Participates in GCC Petroleum Media Forum in Riyadh
March 23: A high-level delegation led by OFID Director-General Mr Suleiman J Al-Herbish is in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the Second Petroleum Media Forum for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The event, which commenced on March 22, was opened by HE Ali Alnuaimi, Minister of Petroleum of Saudi Arabia. The three-day forum which carries the theme "Gulf Petroleum Media, Issues and Challenges," is being attended by ministers of petroleum and energy of GCC member states.
An exhibition was also organized in conjunction with the Forum and was opened by Minister, featuring stands from ministries of petroleum of the GCC countries, national oil and petrochemical companies, as well as OFID.
After the opening, the Ministers visited OFID's booth. They were received by Mr Al-Herbish, who briefed them about OFID's Energy for the Poor Initiative and the institution’s role in advancing the issue, as well as helping shape the new post-2015 development agenda, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He also highlighted OFID's involvement in UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s Sustainable Energy for All Initiative.
