The earth-surfaced, 271 km-long Yaoundé–Kribi stretch in the south-central part of the country provides an important link to the capital Yaoundé and a strategic shipping port in Kribi. Works to be carried out under the project include:

  • paving of an 80 km section of the road from Yaoundé to the town of Olama;
  • installation of drainage works and culverts;
  • rehabilitation of bridges, including replacement of a concrete bridge crossing the Akono River with a steel-reinforced one.
Once completed, some three million individuals residing in the project area will be able to enjoy improved access to social services and a more convenient, cheaper means of transport.
