The project will carry out the following:
- reconstruction of the collapsed 40 m central span section of the Xai-Xai Bridge;
- construction of a new steel structure tower to replace the collapsed tower;
- replacement of the concrete deck on top of the metallic structure by a steel sheet deck;
- replacement of steel cables; and
- construction of new pavement on the carriageway and sidewalks.
