OFID extended a research grant in the amount of US$10,000 to the Arab Centre for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) in support of its sponsored workshop on The Safe Use of Treated Wastewater in Arab Agriculture which was held in May 2009 in Damascus, Syria. The main objectives of the workshop were selecting the best ways of using treated wastewater, exchange experiences and combine national and Arab efforts to adopt the safe use of these components with as well as to support the achievement of sustainable agricultural development in Arab countries.
