This project aims at improving the quality and availability of community-based healthcare for women and girls in 20 underserved rural districts. Works will include the following:

  • development of 20 'women friendly' district health systems;
  • upgrading of 23 hospitals, 77 health centers and 148 basic health units;
  • establisment of health campaigns;
  • implementation of capacity building and human resource development measures.
An estimated 7.5 million women and children are expected to benefit from the project.
