This project will construct a dam on the N’Fis River, some 60 km from Marrakech, to provide water to domestic and industrial consumers in the city, populated by more than 850,000 inhabitants. Works will include >construction of a 70 million m3storage-capacity Wirgane Dam and a 20,000 m3 collecting reservoir and basins for treating and filtering water. Once completed, the new dam is expected to boost drinking water supplies by some 17 million m3 annually.
