The grant was extended to support UNICEF's improvement of rural water supply and sanitation program in three African countries. The program consisted of drilling wells, expansion of existing wells, maintenance and repair facilities, expansion of laboratories, construction of water supply systems, and training of one of the most effective and economical programs aimed at improving the health of children.
