Under the project, wells in over 1,000 villages in six provinces were cleaned and rehabilitated to help improve health conditions and water security for some 1.5 million people. Over 200 hand pumps were repaired/replaced, and 80 new tube wells drilled. The population also learned water resource management practices and the dangers of drinking unsafe water.
