The grant was extended to improve access to and quality of treatment for cancer patients in Sudan. Its immediate objectives are to increase the capacity of the Radiation and Isotopes Centre Khartoum and enhance the quality of its services. The proposed project will involve the upgrading of two cobalt machines and full preventive maintenance of RICK's old radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine Equipment.
